Dr. Richard C. Apodaca has a gentle touch when performing any procedure. From routine cleanings to more complex dental work, we maintain a calm and easy going attitude to make you and your family feel comfortable. Dr. Apodaca will always explain what procedures are best for you and your dental situation. He takes photos with the intraoral camera so you can observe the steps hes taking to restore your dental treatment.
Dr. Apodaca graduated from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1984. He is a member of ADA, Iowa Dental Association and the Des Moines Dental Society. He owned a dental practice in West Des Moines from 1994 until Jan 31, 2018. While at the practice in West Des Moines he was awarded the best dental practice in West Des Moines, Clive and Waukee 2 years 2016 & 2017 by the Des Moines Register and USA Today newspaper contest, voted by his patients. We have now brought that experience and knowledge to Earlham and surrounding areas.

Our office offers comprehensive dental care such as cleanings and exams, restorations, cosmetic dentistry, implants, crowns, bridges, partials, dentures, bleaching, root canal therapy. We are your complete dental office to maintain your beautiful smile.
We file all insurance and offer Care Credit financing along with all major credit cards and have an in house dental membership available for those who do not have dental insurance.
We comply with the CDC, OSHA and HIPAA-- Providing you with the knowledge that your personal information is secure. We use encryption on all dental insurance claims and X-rays we send to specialists or other dental offices.
We want you to feel comfortable in knowing that we follow strict guidelines in sterilizing and disinfecting. We are protecting you along with ourselves.
We believe in treating our employees like family. We work as a team. Our doctor believes in continuing the education of his employees. He and the staff attend dental society meetings, work study groups, local and national dental conventions. This allows us to keep up on the latest technology and procedures.
dEBRA
Debra graduated from Kirkwood College in 1983 with her Dental Assisting degree. She has been Dr. Apodaca’s business manager since 1991 and then they opened their West Des Moines office in 1994. They have been working full-time in Earlham since 2018.
LAUREN
Lauren began as a receptionist in 2008 while she was in high school. She worked in Colorado and then moved to Iowa in 2019. She began working as the Office Coordinator in 2021 here in Earlham.
aLEXA
Alexa began her career in 2017 in the Dental Assisting field with Dr. Apodaca. In 2019, she furthered her dental career in Dental Hygiene. She graduated from DMACC in 2021 with her Dental Hygiene degree. She very much enjoys the field of dentistry, and working with patients everyday. She has an infectious smile.
aMANDA
Amanda graduated from DMACC college in 2015. She is great with children and very calming to those who may be a little nervous about dental care. She compliments our office and will educate you on prevention and maintaining your beautiful smile.
aMY
Amy graduated from DMACC college with her Dental Assisting degree in 1997. She then began her career working alongside Dr. Apodaca and has been with him ever since. In 2007, she furthered her education and became an Expanded Function Dental Assistant.
lISA
Lisa began in the Dental Assisting field in 1982. She has worked in both Iowa and Florida. She then furthered her education and became an Expanded Function Dental Assistant. She moved back to Iowa fulltime in 2022, and that is when she began working with Dr. Apodaca.
lUCY
Lucy is the newest member at the dental office. She is our therapy dog to help relax and calm anxious patients during their dental treatments. She lights up patients when they come into our office.
